Dear Parents and Students,
My name is Carrie Calonico and I am so excited to be teaching first grade at Walt Disney Elementary School. This is my eighth year teaching at Disney. Previously I have taught kindergarten, first, second and third grade in different schools in the Bay Area. I grew up in Walnut Creek and went to CSU Monterey Bay and received my Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Early Childhood Development. After receiving my Bachelor’s degree I went to CSU East Bay and earned my Multiple Subject teaching credential. I believe that teaching is the most rewarding profession and I am especially lucky to be teaching here at Walt Disney Elementary. Teaching is my passion and I always work hard to make sure my students have a fun filled learning experience and I hope to create life long learners. When I am not working I love to watch sports and spend time with my husband and five year old son. I also enjoy going to the beach and baking.
I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and I am excited for a fun year of learning and growing in room T1!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Carrie Calonico

Dear T-1 Families,
My name is Jessica Hoversen and I am very much looking forward to working with this amazing group of students! I have been teaching for 17 years, and this is my 13th year teaching at Walt Disney Elementary. I’ve also taught kindergarten, 3rd grade, a 3rd/4th combo, and 2nd grade. I received my Bachelor’s degree and Multiple Subject teaching credential at Cal State Hayward/East Bay. I then went on to get my Master’s degree in Education Leadership at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga. I absolutely love teaching and feel honored to be a part of your children’s lives. First grade is such a magical year of profound growth, and I’m truly looking forward to a fantastic year! When I’m not at school, I’m caring for my 3 children (ages 12, 9, & 5 years) and very actively involved in their school’s Parent Faculty Club. I also love to read, cook, bake, camp, and do crafty projects around the house.
I’m looking forward to an excellent year and getting to know all of you!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Jessica Hoversen
